On Oct. 10, 1964, she married her soul mate, Tom Laite. They lived in Austin for a time and she worked as a babysitter. They moved to Albert Lea and through the years she had worked at a nursing home and a music store.

She began working for an abstract business and then went into partnership and owned and operated her own abstract company. She sold her share of the abstract business and worked for the assessor’s office at Freeborn County Courthouse. Due to her failing health, she retired from the assessor’s office in 2010. It was a job she very much enjoyed.

Nancy had many interests, she loved going fishing with the family, collecting ornaments and things, playing cards and traveling, especially the annual scenic drive to Wisconsin to get apples. Mostly, she enjoyed spending time with family — watching her granddaughter, Tara, play soccer and grandson, Ryan, play hockey brought her much joy.

Nancy will be deeply missed by her family, including husband, Tom; daughter, Christi Chirpich (Jamie Boerner) of Albert Lea; grandchildren, Tara Chirpich of Rosemount and Ryan Chirpich of Albert Lea; brothers-in-law and sisters-in- law Vernon (Judy) Laite Jr., Gary Laite and Patricia Bergland (Ron Miranda) all of Albert Lea; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Arnold and Peggy Stuhr; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law Vernon and Twyla Laite.

Nancy was at Thorne Crest Senior Living Community for a short time where she made many close friends and was cared for by many special nurses and staff. Her family wishes to give special acknowledgement to Crystal Serrano and the Hutchins family.

Blessed be her memory.
