Scarlets roll Tigers

The Albert Lea boys’ swimming and diving team took on the Mankato West Scarlets on Thursday at Albert Lea High School.
The Tigers fell to the Scarlets, 95-69.
The Scarlets built up their lead quickly, taking first place in the first five events to go up 68-20.
A highlight for the Tigers was Esteban Johnson. The senior came in first place in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 56.89, edging out Mankato West’s Noah Parker by .03 seconds.
Alex Dulitz came in third place in the same event with a time of 57.40.
Aaron Zogg finished in second place in the 100 fly with a time of 1:02.46.
In the 500 freestyle, Albert Lea’s lone swimmer, William Taylor, took second place with a time of 5:57.46.
Albert Lea’s relay team of Carter Simon, Johnson, Zogg and Dulitz took second place in the 200 relay, clocking in with a time of 1:42.94.
Later in the match, Simon came in first place in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:10.57 and Zogg finished second in 1:11.51.
Albert Lea will swim in Northfield on Thursday.
Start time is scheduled for 6 p.m.
