The Lake Mills wrestling team had quite the weekend.

The Bulldogs put together a strong team performance and won the sectional tournament with an astounding 233.5 points. West Hancock finished in second place with 192 points.

“It was another solid team performance,” Bulldogs coach Alex Brandenburg said.

Seven individual wrestlers qualified for the district tournament Saturday. Caiden Jones, Michael Olson, Gabe Irons and Slade Sifuentes all qualified as champions. Tyler Helgeson, Kyle Beery and Cael Boehmer also qualified.

“As a coach, you are always hoping to a squeak a few more through, but I am happy with these seven having a shot at going to state,” Brandenburg said.

Now its onto regional duals, which will be in Lake Mills on Tuesday night.

“We are excited about being able to host regional duals Tuesday night,” Brandenburg said. “It will be nice to have the home crowd helping us out.”

Start time the regional duals is scheduled for 6 p.m.
