Orrin J. Bakke, 74, of Hastings died peacefully Sunday, Feb. 5, 2017, following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Hastings. The Rev. Doug Duin will officiate. Military honors provided by Veterans of Foreign Wars Lyle Russell Post 1210 in Hastings will follow the service at church. Private family interment will take place at a later date. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at the church.

Orrin was a 1960 graduate of Albert Lea High School, served in the United States Air Force and graduated from Mankato State University.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister-in-law, Audrey Bakke and brother-in-law, Mike Reardon.

Orrin is survived by his wife, Fran; children Ann (David) Brattain and their children, Nick and Theo, Chris Bakke and his daughter, Brandi Larson, and Kate (Gary) Giel and their children, Julia, Marshall, and baby, Giel, due in July; siblings Jerome Bakke, Lois Reardon and Florence (Roger) Syvertsen; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the donor’s favorite animal rescue center in memory of Orrin.
