Tigers, Scarlets skate to a tie

After suffering a tough loss the other night to Red Wing, the Albert Lea boys’ hockey team skated to a 4-4 ties with Mankato West on Thursday night.
The Scarlets took a 2-0 lead in the first period, thanks to goals by Cole Fossen and Kyle Looft.
But the Tigers responded with three goals in the second period. Mitchell Evans, Alex Goodmanson and Noah Karge each scored a goal in the period to give the Tigers a 3-2 lead.
Mankato West would tie the game with 52 seconds left in the period on another goal by Looft.
Fossen would give the Scarlets the lead 9:28 into the third period. But Albert Lea would respond on the power play when Alex Ulve scored with 4:56 left in the game.
Albert Lea got 49 shots on goal and goalie Ben Witham made 34 saves.
Albert Lea will be in Fairmont on Monday.
