1 arrested for possessing knife on school grounds

Albert Lea police arrested Travis Edwin Ihrig, 36, for felony being in possession of a dangerous weapon on school grounds at 2:24 p.m. Wednesday at Southwest Middle School. At the scene, Ihrig was also arrested for theft from Bomgaars and on warrants. Officers arrested Ihrig after a short chase from Bomgaars. Ihrig was allegedly in possession of a knife described as rather large. School Resource Officer Ted Herman reportedly followed Ihrig into the school’s foyer before he was arrested, and the school was alerted to not let the man in.

Police cited a juvenile for assault and disorderly conduct at 10:02 a.m. Wednesday at 1601 W. Main St.

1 arrested on warrant

Kevin Bruce Tiegs, 31, turned himself in on a local warrant at 5:14 p.m. Wednesday at 411 S. Broadway.

Vehicle gone through

Several vehicles were alleged entered at 9:19 a.m. Wednesday at 1902 E. Main St. The alleged incidents occurred Tuesday night. No items were missing.

Child pornography reported

Child pornography was reported at 9:27 a.m. Wednesday in Alden.

Check fraud reported

Check fraud was reported at 9:23 a.m. Wednesday at 723 Larimore Circle.
