2 injured in Albert Lea crash

Two people were injured Friday after a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Minnesota Highway 13 and Interstate 90.

Rodney Joseph Spooner, 50, of Albert Lea and Valeria Charlene Snodgrass, 72, of Wells were transported to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea with injuries deemed not life-threatening.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Spooner was driving a 2001 Dodge Ram pickup truck north on Highway 13. Snodgrass was reportedly driving a 2001 Mercury Villager Van, crossing Minnesota Highway 13 to head east on Interstate 90 when the two vehicles collided at about 8:05 a.m. in the intersection.

Albert Lea police, Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office, Manchester fire and Gold Cross Ambulance assisted on scene.

Spooner and Snodgrass were wearing their seat belts, and alcohol was not a factor in the crash, the report states.
