2 local nonprofit organizations receive grants

The Medica Foundation has awarded $40,600 in grants to two organizations that serve Freeborn County residents. According to a press release, the funding will be used for programs and services this year.
Children’s Dental Health Services received a $25,000 grant for its Restoring Smiles program.
The Exchange Club Center for Family Unity received a $15,600 grant for its Parent Mentor – Extended Services program.
The Medica Foundation gave about $1.2 million in grants to nonprofit organizations throughout Medica’s service area that this year will serve about 168,000 people.
The funding priorities for the Medica Foundation include healthy aging, behavioral health, early childhood health and general health improvement. In regional and rural communities, the Medica Foundation also focused on nonprofit core mission support.
