5 things to do this weekend

1. Sinatra & Company

Tim Patrick and his 10-piece Blue Eyes Band will combine with female vocalists from the Girl Singers of the Hit Parade, Colleen Raye and Debbie O’Keefe, for a concert Saturday at the Marion Ross Performing Arts Center.

The groups will sing many songs of the Frank Sinatra and Rat Pack era. There will be songs from Frank Sinatra, Judy Garland and Marilyn Monroe, among others.

The performance begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $23.

Tickets can be purchased at the box office and the Albert Lea Convention and Visitors Bureau from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., by calling 877-730-3144 or going online to www.actonbroadway.com.

2. Paul Walech-Roth art exhibit

An exhibit featuring the work of Rochester artist Paul Walech-Roth will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday and Saturday at The Albert Lea Art Center.

Walech-Roth creates abstract art and is inspired by the works of abstract expressionists after World War II.

3. “Rebirth Out of the Ashes”

“Rebirth Out of the Ashes,” an exhibition by St. Peter artist Michelle Kaisersatt, will be open from 1 to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Freeborn County Arts Initiative, 224 S. Broadway.

Kaisersatt is a clay artist who makes everything from bowls and plates to vases and urns.

The show began March 7 and continues through April 22

4. School plays

Students at two schools within the Albert Lea school district will present plays on Friday.

Hawthorne Elementary School students will present Prairie Fire Children’s Theatre’s “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the school.

Students have been preparing for the play this week with professional actors from Prairie Fire Children’s Theatre.

Admission is free.

Southwest Middle School students will present “Peter Pan” at 7 p.m. in the Little Theatre at the school.

Admission is $5.

5. Motorcycle show

Gold Wing Motorcycle Show will take place Saturday and Sunday at Northbridge Mall.

There will be free rider education seminars at 12:30 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

Hours of the show are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday.
