An Albert Lea man was injured in a rollover crash Monday morning in Blue Earth County.

Michael Harold Cottrell, 61, was transported to Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato with an injury deemed not life-threatening.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Cottrell was driving a 2005 Sterling semi east on Blue Earth County Road 90. He reportedly did not see a stop sign in time, causing the vehicle to slide through the intersection and overturn in the east side ditch of Minnesota State Highway 83 at about 4:15 a.m.

A tractor came to rest on its wheels, and a tanker loaded with vegetable oil was on its side, the report states.

The Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office assisted on scene. Affordable Towing removed the vehicle.

It is unknown whether Cottrell was wearing his seat belt or whether alcohol was a factor in the crash.
