According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Cottrell was driving a 2005 Sterling semi east on Blue Earth County Road 90. A tractor came to rest on its wheels, and a tanker loaded with vegetable oil was on its side, the report states.

The Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office assisted on scene. Affordable Towing removed the vehicle.

It is unknown whether Cottrell was wearing his seat belt or whether alcohol was a factor in the crash.
