Man reportedly found under table in Trumble’s

A Fairmont man who allegedly led officers on a short chase Friday was charged with two felonies on Monday in Freeborn County District Court.

Ryan Alan Jensen, 35, is charged with felony fifth-degree controlled substance possession, felony fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle and gross misdemeanor driving after cancellation.

Court documents state Jensen was charged after an officer recognized him near Stevens Street, driving with a canceled driver’s license and having an arrest warrant.

Jensen reportedly accelerated from the officer and made a left turn into the parking lot of Trumble’s after the officer activated his emergency lights and siren.

Jensen allegedly ran into the restaurant after coming to a stop near the entrance to the building. He reportedly tried to hide under a dining table before the officer found him. Jensen allegedly confronted the officer and asked him why he was being chased while numerous patrons were in the restaurant.

Court documents state a plastic bag in Jensen’s possession tested positive for methamphetamine.

Jensen reportedly has four driving after withdrawals on his record and two gross misdemeanor driving after cancellations.

District Court Judge Steven Schwab set unconditional bail for Jensen at $75,000 on Monday.

Jensen’s next court appearance is scheduled for March 30.

Fifth-degree controlled substance possession carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine. Fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle carries a maximum sentence of three years and one day in prison and a $5,000 fine.
