Laura Madson, 1922-2017

Funeral services for Laura E. Madson, 94, of Albert Lea will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Bridge Community Church. The Rev. Clayton Balsley will officiate. Interment will be at Graceland Cemetery. Laura died Sunday, March 19, 2017, at Thorne Crest Senior Living Community.

Laura Elaine Madson was born June 27, 1922, in Rutland Township, Martin County, the daughter of Arthur and Myrtle (Toothaker) Greeley. On Nov. 16, 1943, she married Robert Madson in Albert Lea. She worked as a bookkeeper at J.C. Penney. Laura was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, where she served as a deaconess and participated in the church circle and American Baptist Women. Laura enjoyed golfing, camping, needlework, music, playing cards and exercising. She also served as a scout leader.

Laura is survived by her children Ken (Judy) Madson and Judy (Ron) Larsen; grandsons Jon and Jeff Madson; great-granddaughter, Justine; great-great-grandsons Logan and Reese; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Laura was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; parents Art and Myrtle; sisters Gladys, Dolly, Pearl and Helen; brothers Rollo, Harold, Allen, Merwin, Donald and Roscoe; and many nieces and nephews.
