There are two upcoming events, both free to the public.
First — The Albert Lea Audubon Society announces a presentation by Stan Tekiela, renowned naturalist, author and wildlife photographer. Stan’s topic this year is “The Lives of Wolves, Coyotes and Foxes,” at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Little Theatre at Southwest Middle School. Stan will have copies of a variety of books, among the many he has authored and photographs he has taken of wildlife available for purchase that he will autograph at the request of attendees at the conclusion of his presentation. A raffle for a jar of honey created by bees feeding on choice plants made available to them out of the Albert Lea Audubon Society’s Preserve at the west end of Oregon Street in Albert Lea will also be held.
Second — The Civil War Roundtable group will have a presentation by Ben Mortenson titled “Photography in the Civil War,” at 7 p.m. April 6 in Southwest Middle School’s media center. The traditional Q&A session will follow his presentation with a raffle drawing for a free book about subject matter relating to our Civil War at the conclusion of Ben’s presentation.
