Linda Caroline Hamson, 95, of Bricelyn died Sunday, March 12, 2017, at her home at Nicollet Place in Blue Earth.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Bricelyn Lutheran Church in Bricelyn. The Rev. Nancy Dreier will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Bricelyn and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Linda Caroline Hamson was born May 8, 1921, in Pickerel Lake Township, the daughter of Christ and Alma (Stern) Schmidt. Linda was baptized and confirmed at Pickerel Lake Lutheran Church and attended rural school District 124. She was an active member of Luther League and 4-H, winning many honors for home beautification and bread making, skills she used throughout her life.

Linda was united in marriage to Henry M. Hamson on Nov. 7, 1944, at Pickerel Lake Lutheran Church. She and Hank farmed in the Bricelyn and Winnebago areas and retired back to Bricelyn in 1972.

Linda had various jobs in her life and was a longtime member of Bricelyn Lutheran Church. She traveled to Europe, Alaska, Washington, D.C., and Massachusetts, which she loved. Linda enjoyed making quilts for Lutheran World Relief and crocheting sweaters, hats and doilies for donations and gifts. Everything grew with Linda’s touch; she was a renowned gardener. She was a joy to her family member’s lives and all who met her.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Henry; sisters Elsie Perschbacher and Mildred Kangas; brothers Edvin and Loy Schmidt; and many other relatives and friends.

Linda is survived by her children Carol Reinhart of Denver, Henry Hamson Jr. of Delavan ad Susan Mules of Anoka; six grandchildren, Brad (Tonie) Mules of Warner Robins, Georgia, Amy (Jon) Mills of Ramsey, Melissa Reinhart of Garden City, Kansas, Mark Reinhart of Denver, Bo Patrick Hamson of Delavan and Robin Leslie of Wells; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and many nieces, nephews and their families.
