It’s the second time in two months that he has been accused of attacking an inmate at Cerro Gordo County Jail.

Veal allegedly punched a prisoner in the face Wednesday night while they were sitting at a table in a common area of the male maximum-security unit at Cerro Gordo County Jail.

Cerro Gordo County Chief Deputy Dave Hepperly said the victim’s wound required stitches.

He said Veal will likely face additional sanctions for violating jail policies.

In March, Veal was accused of fighting another inmate in the common area.

He was charged in that case with misdemeanor disorderly conduct.

Veal has been at the jail since his arrest Nov. 17 for two counts of first-degree murder.
