- Art students at Halverson Elementary School have been gearing up for spring. They started their monarch butterfly unit by reading “Hurry and the Monarch.” Learning targets with this lesson are mixing and describing how to make secondary colors from primary; painting using dry brush and wet-in-wet technique; using elements of visual art including line, shape, color, texture and space; identifying and creating a symmetrical piece of artwork; and using art terms to talk about work. Pictured are Brooklyn Seath, Aiden Boss and Lindsey Nielsen with their symmetrical monarch butterflies. - Provided
