Schools reach out to Karen community

- Principals Diane Schultz of Sibley Elementary School and Johanna Thomas of Halverson Elementary School, along with Mary Jo Dorman, elementary services coordinator, went to a Karen church on Sunday in Albert Lea for school outreach. Interpreters Kasee Yar and Ester Wah, success coaches with the school district, were also in attendance. - Provided
Albert Lea school district staff talked about school programs, summer programming, early childhood services and took questions Sunday during a school outreach event at a local Karen church. Two interpreters, Kasee Yar and Ester Wah, success coaches with the school district, interpreted the meeting in Karen. Children left with a free book. – Provided
