Spotlight on Sibley 4th-graders

Fourth-graders in Lisa Schoneman’s class at Sibley Elementary School are learning about the United States this year in social studies. They are digging deeper into specific states and cities with classroom exchanges they’ve done throughout the school year. A classroom exchange is where the students exchange information with classes throughout the U.S. The students in the other states can learn more about the Albert Lea class and the class can learn about them and the area in which they live. Each student gets a specific state or city where they send out information about Albert Lea and Minnesota. The students are always excited when they get an envelope back from the place where they sent the information. They are able to open it to learn more about that specific city or state. By the end of the school year, the students will have learned about all 50 states by receiving information from all of them. – Provided
