Vikings finish 3rd in golf triangular

The Northwood-Kensett boys’ and girls’ golf teams were at Nashua Town and Country Club for a golf triangular Thursday afternoon.

The Vikings finished in third place in both groups, and Nashua-Plainfield swept the triangular.

The Vikings finished with a team score of 240, 29 strokes behind Nashua-Plainfield.

Erika Heidman led Northwood-Kensett with a score of 55, and Jocelyn Kluender (57) was the other Viking to shoot below 60.

Thursday’s medalist was Nashua-Plainfield’s Haley Hillesheim, whose score of 50 was one better than teammate Megan Cerwinske.

Boys’ golf

Northwood-Kensett finished a team score of 292, finishing 97 strokes behind Nashua-Plainfield.

The Vikings were led by the duo of Hayden Halbach (50) and Brock Nelson (53). Halbach and Nelson were the only Vikings to shoot under 60. Josh Fick had one of his best rounds of the season, as he finished with 63.

Rockford’s Kaden Layman’s 43 was two strokes better than Nashua-Plainfield’s Dillion Auchstetter for the medalist spot.
