Worksite summit set

The Albert Lea-Freeborn County Chamber’s worksite wellness committee is hosting its second annual worksite summit, “Why Wellness Matters 2.0,” with support from the Statewide Health Improvement Partnership, the Blue Zones Project and Freeborn Mower Cooperative Services, according to a press release.
The summit will be from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Freeborn County Historical Museum, Library and Village.
The featured speaker is Margaret “Maggi” Adamek. Terra Soma’s CEO, Adamek is nationally recognized for her impact-oriented approach to helping people and partnerships create healthy communities. Her long-standing experience with food systems change — from production to consumption — provides clients with clear, strategic counsel and support as they launch initiatives to improve local economies, public health and agricultural systems. Adamek will appear courtesy of the Blue Zones Project.
Attendees will be able to learn from the success of others. Local wellness leaders Riverland Community College, Freeborn County and Albert Lea Select Foods will share their best practices in improving the health of their employees.
