FFA members began the Minnesota FFA convention with contests, workshops and sessions April 23 at the University of Minnesota, according to a press release.

Over 3,600 members had the opportunity to compete in career development events and attend leadership workshops on the U of M St. Paul campus. Following the events and workshops, members gathered at Mariucci Arena in Minneapolis for the annual award ceremony.

United South Central students who received proficiency awards at the event included Alex Warmka in the agricultural mechanics, repair and maintenance placement category; Corey Ehlert in the diversified crop production entrepreneurship category; Brayden Schultz in the diversified crop production placement; Leah Meyer in the landscape management category; Nick Wolleat in the specialty crop production category; and Trent Stevermer in the swine production placement category.
