CLARKS GROVE — Aside from the many offerings The Depot Salon and Tanning in Clarks Grove already offers, the salon now includes a Du North Designs boutique.
The Depot Salon and Tanning has been a staple in the community for over 12 years. Dawn Loverink, owner and stylist, opened the store for hairstyling and tanning in 2005. Then in 2014, she opened the craft corner, selling many different home decor and accessory items.
Added in February, the Du North Designs boutique is the salon’s newest addition.
Based in Alberta, Canada, Du North Designs is a clothing company that mainly features women’s clothing and accessories — such as leggings, tank tops, rompers and scarves, among others.
As a distributor of the Du North products and with the luxury of already owning her own business, Loverink has some of the clothing shipped to her to sell in her salon. A wide range of styles and sizes can be found right there in the store, but there are also more products on her website.
Loverink plans to hold a few open houses over the summer months to showcase some of the items she has on hand at the salon. Though she doesn’t have the dates for the open houses set yet, she said to watch her Facebook page for exact times and dates.
Those interested in purchasing some of the items available can visit the store to look in person at 201 W. Main St. in Clarks Grove, or visit the website www.dunorthdarling.com/dawnloverink.
The Depot Salon and Tanning, along with the crafts corner and boutique, are open from 8 a.m. to noon Tuesdays, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesdays, and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays.
All hair and tanning sessions must be scheduled by appointment and can be made by calling 507-256-4249.
