Lois Sandt, 1933-2017

Lois Jean Sandt, 83, of Kiester died Friday, May 26, 2017, at Good Samaritan Society in Albert Lea. A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Kiester with the Rev. Katie Pals. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells, and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will take place at Our Savior’s Lutheran Cemetery in Kiester. Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells is assisting the family. To leave an online condolence, please visit www.brussheitner.com. Lois Sandt

Lois Jean was born Nov. 28, 1933, in Griswold, Iowa, the daughter of Maurice and Norma (Baker) Proctor. She attended school in Woolstock, Iowa, graduating in 1951. Lois was united in marriage to Donald Sandt July 2, 1951, in Des Moines. She worked for 15 years at Swift-Eckrich in Wells before retiring in 1999. Lois was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Kee Madd Hatters and the Kiester Legion Auxiliary, where she also served as a past president. Lois enjoyed her family and friends, going to sporting and special events, playing cards, throwing dice and her hobbies.

Lois is survived by her children: Randy Sandt of Mapleton, Michael Sandt (Joline Pearson) and James Sandt, both of Kiester, and Mary Harmdierks of Florida; grandchildren Christine (Mark) Fling of Texas, Jeremy Sandt of Colorado, Adam Sandt of Kiester, Desiree Sandt of Mankato, Sarah Diaz of Florida, Nicole (Brian) Montalvo of Florida, Mark Harmdierks of Good Thunder, Kenneth (Nicole) Sandt of Mankato and Daniel Sandt of Mankato; 13 great-grandchildren; sister Marcy (Al) Shehorn of Webster City, Iowa.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; son, Richard “Rick”; and niece, Sheryl Shehorn.
