Three members of the 2017-18 Tiger Yearbook staff attended the Jostens Summer Yearbook Workshop from June 20 to 22 at Gustavus Adolphus College.
According to a press release, all three students stayed in student housing and got a taste of what it’s like to live on a college campus in non-air conditioned dorms. It was the 10th consecutive summer for someone from the school to attend yearbook summer workshop.
Students who participated were seniors Ellie Aldrich, Sydney Doran and Lexie Simon.
The theme of this year’s 104th installment of Tiger Yearbook will be “small town, big dreams.” The book will focus on what it means to be a Tiger and an Albert Lean. Students spent three days figuring out how they are going to carry that theme throughout the book, designing the page spreads and planning coverage, figuring out how to get every student in the book at least three times, creating page templates, picking fonts, designing the book cover and picking theme colors and shapes.
Yearbooks will be available to purchase at a reduced price once school starts in late August. To receive the discounted price, students must purchase the books by Halloween.
