After a stellar senior season, Albert Lea’s Ben Witham is getting recognition for it.

Witham was selected to play in the 43rd annual Play Ball! Minnesota High School Baseball All-Star Series that features six teams — Metro South, Metro East, Metro West, North, South and Metro North.

The team will play a round-robin schedule that features 104 of the state’s best seniors from all classes of baseball.

The two-day event runs June 23-24 at Chaska Athletic Park.

Witham will represent the South All-Stars, which features seven other players from the Big Nine Conference.

Witham will play football at Rochester Community and Technical College in the fall.
