Bradford held out of practice with ‘muscle tightness’

EDEN PRAIRIE — Minnesota Vikings quarterback Sam Bradford sat out the team’s practice on Tuesday with what coach Mike Zimmer called “muscle tightness.”
Zimmer was not specific on which muscles were ailing Bradford. But he did say it was purely precautionary and there was no concern for long-term issues. Bradford did some throwing in individual drills on Tuesday but sat out the portions of the workout where the offense went against the defense.
Bradford’s absence gave new backup Case Keenum a chance to get more work.
Zimmer says Teddy Bridgewater continues to show improvement while coming back from a major knee injury. But Zimmer also made it clear that Bridgewater “still has a long ways to go.”
The Vikings have five more practices before taking a break to rest up for training camp.
