Gene worked at Sorensen Bros Construction Inc. for 28 years running heavy equipment, becoming a supervisor in 1984, retiring in 2011.

He played a lot of pool where he made many friends. He traveled a lot and attended many rock concerts. He collected guns, model cars and tractors and vinyl records. He enjoyed riding his Honda Goldwing and wood working. He loved spending time with his friends and family, but mostly being with his grandchildren. He always took care of everyone else and not himself. He never lost his stubborn edge that just made him Geno.

Gene is survived by his mother, Darlene Tue, of Albert Lea; his two daughters, Rachel (Chris) Lawson of Houghton, Michigan, and Kristen (Fred) Allen of Albert Lea; grandsons Gavin, Ethan, Garrett and Evan Lawson; one sister, Diane (Russ) Michels, of Fort Collins, Colorado; nieces Lisa (Scott) Stengaard and their son, Gabriel, and Melissa Emanuel and her daughter, Amelia; along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Gene was preceded in death by his father in 1992; his brother, Gary; and one stillborn son, John.
