On the road: Worth County Fair centered around FFA, 4-H

The Worth County Fair will through Monday at the Worth County Fairgrounds this year.

As usual, the fair will be centered around a number of different FFA and 4-H events spanning multiple categories.

Entertainment will range from different live acts such as a lumber jack show, a rodeo and demo derby, among others. The fair queen contest will also take place once again.

A number of free meals will be available, with different meals being sponsored by Farmers State Bank, Worth County Cattlemen and NSB Bank. There are also a few barbecues and pork chop dinners planned.

The fair will finish up with a 4-H teen dance.

Schedule of events

Wednesday

8-10 a.m.: Open class floral entries

8:30 a.m.: 4-H/FFA dog show at North Quonset

10 a.m.: 4-H/FFA pet show at North Quonset

12 a.m.: 4-H exhibit building opens

12:30 p.m.: Open class floral judging

1 p.m.: 4-H/FFA horse show- halter & pleasure classes at the North Arena

2-4 p.m.: 4-H/FFA Livestock judging contest in the Livestock Arena

4 p.m.: Educational presentations in the Community Room

5 p.m.: 4-H Working exhibits in the 4-H Exhibit building

5:30-7:30 p.m.: Rabbit check-in at the poultry/pet barn

7 p.m.: Fair queen contest in the Shelter House

Thursday

7:30 a.m.-noon: 4-H livestock weigh-in

8:30 a.m.: Rabbit check-in at the poultry barn

10 a.m.: 4-H building opens

Noon: Free meal sponsored by Farmers State Bank in the Shelter House

1 p.m.: 4-H/FFA horse show-games at the North Arena

3 p.m.: Farm bureau tractor operator contest at the Grandstand

5:30-6 p.m.: Pedal pull registration at the Shelter House

5:30-7 p.m.: Fair board appreciation BBQ at the Shelter House

6 p.m.: Pedal pull outside of the Shelter House

7 p.m.: Lumber jack show on the Grandstand

Friday

8 a.m.: 4-H/FFA swine show in the Livestock Arena

10 a.m.: 4-H building opens

11:30 a.m.: Worth County 4-H butterfly pork chop lunch in the Shelter House

3:30 a.m.: 4-H/FFA market poultry weigh-in at the Poultry/Pet Barn

4 p.m.: 4-H/FFA Poultry Show at the Poultry Barn

7 p.m.: Circle C Rodeo in the Grandstand

Saturday

8 a.m.: 4-H/FFA beef show in the Livestock Arena

10 a.m.: 4-H building opens

Noon: Free lunch sponsored by NSB Bank in the Shelter House

1:30 p.m.: 4-H/FFA dairy show in the Livestock Arena

6 p.m.: 4-H style show & awards at the Shelter House

6:30 p.m.: Tractor pull in the Grandstand

Sunday

10 a.m.: Church service in the Shelter House

11 a.m.: 4-H barn interviews communication event at the Livestock Arena

11:30 a.m.: Baby contest in the Shelter House

Noon: Beef BBQ sponsored by Worth County Cattlemen in the Shelter House

Noon: 4-H building opens

Noon: 4-H/FFA sheep show in the Livestock Arena

Following sheep show: 4-H/FFA goat show in the Livestock Arena
