HOLLANDALE — Hollandale Christian School is gearing up for its annual back to school night from 4 to 7 p.m. Aug. 22.

According to Principal Enno Haan, the structured evening includes a meal and time for the students’ families to get together again and get reacquainted. He said the event also gives teachers the opportunity to address students with their parents alongside of them, students a chance to organize their desks and brings everyone together for chapel time — a time to join together in praise, prayer and song.

Classes at the private Christian school begin the next day at 7:45 a.m. Almost 80 students between kindergarten and eighth grade are anticipated to be enrolled at the school this year. Haan said there is still time for more students to enroll.

The school provides a Christ-centered, family-oriented environment with smaller classroom sizes. While kindergarteners are taught separately, the other grades are combined in multigrade classrooms pairing first- and second-, third- and fourth-, fifth- and sixth-, and seventh- and eighth-graders together in classrooms of 20 students or less.

“The greatest benefit of our school is that we are standing on the foundation of the Bible — the Biblical foundation of truth,” Haan said.

“Another blessing about this school is that it’s Christ’s school,” he said. “It’s a Christian school, so the element of worship is always there.”

As a private school, Hollandale Christian School does require a financial commitment on the part of parents. Tuition at the school is $4,000 per year. The cost to teach a child at the school is approximately $5,200, but the school hosts fundraisers throughout the school year to help defer the educational costs. Tuition assistance is also available to those who qualify.

Any parent who would like more information about Hollandale Christian School can visit the school’s website at www.hollandalechristian.org or call the school at 507-889-3321.

Haan said he and other staff members are happy to meet with any family who would like to consider choosing a Christian education for their child.
