Jessica Obermeyer, 1967-2017

Jessica Kate (Kluver) Obermeyer, 50, of St. Clair passed away Monday, July 17, 2017, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato, surrounded by family.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Hosanna Lutheran Church in Mankato. Visitation took place from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Drive in North Mankato, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Private family burial will be at Tivoli Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials be given to the Jessica Obermeyer Nursing Scholarship Fund.

Jessica was born June 17, 1967, to Kenneth and Lorraine (VanWesten) Kluver in Worthington. She graduated from Brewster High School in 1985 and continued her education at Worthington Community College and Mankato State University. She received bachelor’s degrees in both education and nursing.

On Feb. 28, 1997, she married John Obermeyer at Hosanna Lutheran Church in Mankato. Together they raised two sons, Brian and Kyle.

Jessica worked as a registered nurse at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato and also taught nursing courses at South Central Technical College in Mankato. She was a member of Hosanna Lutheran Church, where she was active in education and Bible studies. In her free time, Jessica enjoyed reading, painting, being outdoors, watching Minnesota sports teams — and especially watching her boys play sports.

Jessica will be remembered for being a loving, giving and caring person with a generous and warm heart and a great sense of humor. She will be greatly missed by many.

Jessica is survived by her husband, John; their sons Brian and Kyle; her firstborn son, Anthony (Cassie) Siegenthaler, and his children Caleb and Wyatt; parents Kenneth and Lorraine Kluver; sisters Melonie (Tony) Haberman and Rachel Kluver; brothers Scott (Jenny) Kluver and Kelly Kluver; sister-in-law, Carol Mutschler; brothers-in-law Mark (Sharon) Obermeyer and Paul (Rhoda) Obermeyer; special friends Tamy Munsen and Polly Stenzel; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of special friends.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Jack Kluver; brother-in-law, David Mutschler; parents-in-law Martin and Mattie Obermeyer; and grandparents Steve and Jessie VanWesten.
