Melissa Fuchs

Melissa was born to her parents Sandra Kay Hillman Johnson and Valan Nelard Johnson on May 22, 1973, in Albert Lea. A bright and vibrant young lady throughout her life, Melissa graduated high school in 1991 and immediately began her career in various office administrative positions. She was employed with the TAMU engineering department for several years. Melissa’s life was complete when she welcomed her daughter, Jaime, into this world. Together, she and Jaime looked forward to meeting Melissa’s first grandbaby later this year. James Fuchs was her soulmate with whom she wanted to grow old together with.

Melissa’s life was one of great adventure shared by family and friends. As a motorcycle enthusiast always looking for a great road trip, she believed the further the better. She was a gambler at heart and loved Louisiana for the great casinos in the state. In all her adventures, James and Melissa wanted everyone to be happy and enjoy the time given to share. Melissa and Jaime shared many girls days, where they would venture off and just do mom and daughter stuff, such as pedicures, watch movies together and have their favorite wine. Although Melissa’s life was short in her family’s eyes, she lived a full life of love for all to enjoy. This life of a free spirit is now truly free in the afterlife in faith.

She is survived by her husband, James Fuchs; her daughter, Jaime Smith (Tyler Doan); her brother, Matthew Johnson (Heather Allen); her sister, Mollie Monson; her mother, Sandra Johnson; her father, Val, and wife, Joyce Johnson; her grandbaby to be born who would have called her “MimiLissa;” her in-laws Ray and Barbara Commander; and the rest of the Fuchs family.
