Fully Rely on God
Vacation Bible school has wrapped up for the summer. Joan Anderson from Ascension Lutheran Church, Genie Hanson from Central Freeborn Lutheran Church, Rebecca Passer from Grace Lutheran, Christie Ness from Salem Lutheran Church and Annette Hansen from Trinity Lutheran Church were the adult representatives responsible for providing leadership to the group.
A gala took place to kick off the event. Pizza and root beer floats were served and
Bible school students were encouraged to bring anyone they chose — especially their dads as it was Father’s Day.
The Okoboji Lutheran Bible Camp teachers for first through sixth grade attended the gala and lead the group in saying grace. The group included Mady Bixby, Claire Garrison, Zach Valen, Andrew Zagar, Megan Johnson and Jori Steenhoek with their team leader, Jocelyn Gibler.
There were several others involved in the effort to teach the 86 preschool through sixth-grade students who attended.
The Okoboji team was housed at Central Freeborn Lutheran Church in rural Albert Lea. They were treated to a horse-drawn wagon ride to a cookout at the cable of Gene and Diane Wangen, an outdoor barbecue in Owatonna and sweet corn at the Phil Morreim residents.
A potluck supper that had been planned was moved to Trinity Lutheran Church due to the weather. The potluck was followed by a program.
