Back to school supplies assistance available

Applications for back to school supply assistance will be taken from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday at The Salvation Army, 302 Court St. in Albert Lea, according to a press release. Applicants will need to bring proof that their child/children are registered in a Freeborn County school in kindergarten through seventh grade and a parental Identification. Back packs will be distributed the same day to those who qualify.

The Salvation Army family store is also having a back to school sale on children’s clothing from Monday to Aug. 19. to help families outfit their children for school. The sale includes clothing from the children’s department only. Items are 50 percent off. The Salvation Army Family Store, 416 Bridge Ave., is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
