Chet A. Knutson, 48, of Lake Mills, formerly of Albert Lea, passed away Monday, July 31, 2017. Chet died unexpectedly of a heart attack at his home in Lake Mills.

A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Bayview Freeborn Funeral Home in Albert Lea. The Rev. Dwight Netzer will officiate. Interment will be at a later date at Hillcrest Cemetery. Chet was born Oct. 15, 1968, to Larry Knutson and LaVonne (Christensen) Knutson at Naeve Hospital in Albert Lea. Chet attended schools in Hayward and Albert Lea and graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1987. He also attended Riverland Community College in Albert Lea and Austin Community College. Chet always loved sports and played varsity football and baseball, both in high school and at Austin Community College. He was an avid reader and loved movies.

Chet was preceded in death by his mother, LaVonne, in 2010 and grandparents on both sides.

He is survived by his dad, Larry; stepmother, Lyn; brother, Matt (Jennifer); niece, Elianna; nephew, Tanner; and many other loving relatives and friends.
