Letter: Constituent contact a priority

Published 10:03 pm Thursday, August 3, 2017

I would like to publicly apologize to Superintendent Joe Brown of the Fairmont Area Schools for an unfortunate oversight this past legislative session. Superintendent Brown contacted me with some good thoughts on some education issues he’d like to see changed. Unfortunately, after I sent his request off to our nonpartisan research staff for more information, I lost track of the request and totally forgot about it in the rush of session. It wasn’t until I read the recent column by Robin Brown (Superintendent Brown’s wife) pointing out my error that I realized this oversight.

I very much value constituent contact, which is why I try to get out and around our local communities as much as I’m able. When constituents contact me, I make every effort to respond to each person. I receive an incredible amount of mail and email, and I know there will be times when I miss someone. If this happens to you, please call my office at 651-296-8216 and let me know. I don’t want to miss anyone!
