Sara Anderson, 1970-2017

Sara Bryand Anderson was born June 15, 1970, in Albert Lea to John Bryand Sr. and Shari Bryand.

She attended Albert Lea schools. Sara went on to become a registered nurse after attending Riverland Community College in Austin and Bemidji State University, where she was on the dean’s list. She graduated from Riverland Community College in Austin. Sara worked in care centers in Golden Valley, Blooming Prairie and Rochester.

Sara had a wonderful sense of humor. Her passions were fishing, hunting, cooking, crocheting, embroidery and traveling. She was fortunate to have travelled to most of the United States and Mexico. She loved animals and always had a lot of cats. In her lifetime she has had dogs, cats, a hermit crab and even an iguana.

Sara passed away at the age of 47 on Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at her home in Joice, Iowa, after a long illness.

She will be greatly missed by her fiance, Martie Carlsgaard, of Joice; mother, Shari Staude, of Albert Lea; father, John Bryand Sr. (Julie), of Albert Lea; two brothers, John Bryand Jr. (Tammy) of Albert Lea and Joshua Bryand (Angie) of Albert Lea; aunt, Cindy Jennings (Berdie), of Streamwood, Illinois; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; and her cats Humphrey and Craig.

Sara was preceded death by her stepfather, Dwain Staude; grandparents Ben and Betty Tufte; grandmother, Theresa Pearson; uncle, Ken Bringgold; and cousin, Ron Bringgold.
