Lester Gleason, 1947-2017

Memorial services for Lester J. Gleason, 69, of Albert Lea will be at 10 a.m. Nov. 11 at Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. Eileen Woyen will officiate. Military honors will be accorded by local servicemen’s organizations. Friends may greet the family one hour prior to the service at the church. Les died Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2017, at Thorne Crest Senior Living Community.

Lester John Gleason was born Nov. 11, 1947, in Queens, New York, the son of John and Marie (Casey) Gleason. He grew up in New York and New Jersey and graduated from Fairfield Alternative High School. He served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War.

On May 21, 1983, Les married Kelly Jo Worrell. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Les enjoyed driving his car, listening to music — ’50s, ’60s and ’70s rock, watching crime dramas and sci-fi, and visiting with anyone he came into contact with.

Les was a lover of people and lived his life to the fullest at full throttle all the time.

Les is survived by his wife, Kelly Gleason; children John Gleason, Ciji Gleason and Sean Gleason; sister, Lori Grossman; nephews Joe Rogalski, Sam Wangen, Harlan Collins, James Worrell and Brody Louallen; niece, Sophia Wangen; mother-in-law, Eleanor Wangen; and sisters-in- law, brothers-in-law and many friends.

Les was preceded in death by his parents John and Marie Gleason; father-in-law, Ralph Wangen; and sister-in-law, Kim Beuerlein.
