Mayo Clinic donates $500K to aid Hurricane Harvey victims

Mayo Clinic is offering support to the victims of Hurricane Harvey through a $500,000 donation to the American Red Cross. Mayo Clinic has requested the funds go directly to relief efforts for those affected by the recent storm.

According to a news release, Mayo Clinic recognized the urgent need for hope and assistance in the regions affected by the hurricane, and understands the responsibility to give back to those in need. Though it does not operate campuses in the regions affected by the hurricane, Mayo offered its support to these victims through this donation to the American Red Cros, the release stated.

“Mayo Clinic has a long history of responding in times of crisis,” said John Noseworthy, president and CEO, of Mayo Clinic. “Hurricane Harvey has had profound impact on so many. The hearts of our entire staff go out to all of those affected.”
