Roger Randall, 1933-2017

Funeral services for Roger G. Randall, 84, of Albert Lea will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church in Albert Lea. The Rev. Dwight Netzer will officiate. Interment will be at Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Online condolences are welcome at www.bayviewfuneral.com.

Roger died Sunday, Sept. 24, 2017, at Thorne Crest Senior Living Community.

Roger Randall

Roger Gayle Randall was born Feb. 22, 1933, in Albert Lea, the son of Myron “Babe” and Louise (Weber) Randall. He grew up and attended school in Albert Lea. On March 4, 1961, he was united in marriage to Helen Bernice Schroeder in Mason City.

Roger worked for many years at Wilson’s & Co. and Farmstead Foods. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church. Roger was also a member of the Eagles Club, Moose Club and the American Legion. He enjoyed many sports, including football, baseball and basketball and was a big Vikings and Twins fan. He also enjoyed polka music, bands and karaoke. Roger especially loved spending time with family at reunions or other get-togethers.

Roger is survived by Jay (Carol) Jolly, Wayne (Barb) Thorpe, Penny Schultz and companion Randall Schultz, Mitch (Victoria) Heun, Jennifer O’Brien and fiancé, Jerome St. John, Keith (Stacey) Michels, Shannon Risnes, Marlin “Buck” Risnes, Matthew Niesen, Adam Randall, Alyssa Olson, Samantha Schultz, Ashley Randall, Kenny Schultz, Casey Schultz, William Thorpe and Jazzmyn Jorgenson; sons-in-law Steve Olson and Steve Jorgenson; sister-in-law, Naomi Randall; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Duane and Miriam Schroeder; dozens of great-grandchildren; and multiple nieces and nephews.

Roger was preceded in death by his father, Myron Randall; mother, Louise Weber Randall; wife, Helen B. Randall; daughters Dorothy Olson and Gail Jorgenson; granddaughter, Courtnee Niesen; parents-in-law, Henry and Luella Schroeder; brother, Niles Randall; sister, Nancy Bronson; and several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews.
