Funeral services for Audrey Mae Nelson, 87, of Albert Lea will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2017, at Assembly of God Church in Albert Lea. The Rev. Mark Geselle will officiate. Interment will be at 3:15 p.m. at Hills of Rest Cemetery in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Audrey died Saturday, Oct. 7, 2017, at St. John’s Lutheran Community.

Audrey Mae Nelson was born Jan. 6, 1930, in Sioux Falls, the daughter of Frank and Alice (Blood) Powell. She grew up in Brandon and Garretson, South Dakota. On Feb. 5, 1950, Audrey married Sydney Allen Nelson in Sioux Falls.

She was a member of Assembly of God Church. Audrey enjoyed knitting, drawing, coloring and writing poems. She loved family visits, baking and spending time with her grandkids.

Audrey is survived by her children Sharyl Dimick, Peggy (David) Mines and Scott Nelson; grandchildren Chad Mines, Dan Mines, Lori (Brad) Nelson, Jacob Dimick, Josh (Layla) Dimick, Libby (Shea) Durbin; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Doris Hoiland, Phyllis Mehus and Darlene Reit.

Audrey was preceded in death by her husband, Sydney Nelson; brothers Kenneth Powell, Merle Powell and Curt Powell; sister, Artis Hoiland; and her parents, Frank and Alice.
