Funeral services for Suzanne Marie Newman of Albert Lea will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. The Rev. David Emmons will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Bonnerup Funeral Service and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Albert Lea.

Suzanne Newman died Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester. She was 71.

Suzanne was born Dec. 10, 1945, in Albert Lea, the daughter of Maynard and Annabel (Christensen) Jacobson. She graduated high school in Albert Lea. On Oct. 19, 1963, she was united in marriage to Daryl Newman in Albert Lea.

Suzanne was a Freeborn County resident all of her life and a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, where she was active in ladies aid and taught Sunday school. She worked for over 19 years for Walmart in Albert Lea and was a member and past president of the Eagles Club.

In her free time, she especially loved time with her grandchildren and shopping. She also enjoyed flowers and watching the birds.

Suzanne is survived by her husband, Daryl, of Albert Lea; and children Karen and her husband, Russ Adkins, of Northwood, Pam and her husband, Dave Elliott, of Northwood, Michael and his wife, Jolene Newman, of Albert Lea and Daron and his wife, Jody Newman, of Janesville. There are 15 grandchildren, Heather, Alex, Nathan, Amanda, Connar, Tyler, Taylor, Trinity, Daniel, Elizabeth, Mackenzie, Brendon, Krystle, Kelsie and Kiara; great-grandchildren Booker, Dylan, Harper and Brody; two sisters, Rebecca (Alan) Baer of Madison Lake and Paula Jensen of Albert Lea; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Aaron; brother-in-law, David Newman; and mother- and father-in-law Walter and Thelma Newman.
