When thinking of Christmas, many think of enjoying a plentiful dinner and opening presents, according to a press release. Some families are not able to have such an experience due to financial difficulties.
The Salvation Army will accept applications for assistance to help those in need from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at 302 Court St. in Albert Lea.
Applicants are asked to bring IDs, proof of residence and proof of income. Once registered, applicants will be given a time to pick up their items on Dec. 21.
Those who would like to help provide gifts, there are angel tree drop-off sites throughout Albert Lea. Items may be dropped off at any of the locations or at 302 Court St. Those who would like to volunteer with the sign-up or distribution can call 373-5710.
