NEW RICHLAND — Looks can be deceiving.

At first glance, Airwave Solutions in New Richland may appear to be just a Dish dealer, but the company does much more than that.

The company, which is owned by Trent Gunsolus, sells and installs televisions, audio/visual equipment, home and commercial security systems, off-air antennas and internet services.

“We’re not only Dish,” Gunsolus said, noting that the company’s focus on service beyond the sale. “That’s kind of our forte. We like to do the installs ourselves so we know that everything is working the way the customer wants it to.”

Airwave Solutions was recognized this year for its customer service. The company was one of two businesses in the state — and one of 65 nationally — to be named a Dish premier authorized dealer.

According to Gunsolus, more than half of the company’s business is Dish-related, but the visit to install the service often leads to repeat visits when customers learn about everything else Airwave Solutions does.

Gunsolus said the company has also adopted Dish’s new motto of tuning into the customer. He said if a customer comes in wanting a certain item or particular service, he feels it is his job to give the customer the best deal possible while still fulfilling their needs. So, if a customer wants a basic television with no bells and whistles, that’s what they’ll get. But, if that customer wants to utilize services such as Netflix or needs a television and related services to allow for online gaming, he’ll make sure they have what they need, as well.

He works with packages the company offers for channel bundles through Dish or internet options, which include landline, cable and satellite internet services. Gunsolus also offers off-air antennas for those who just want local channels or those who would like to add local channels to a Dish package.
