Nora Adams, 1949-2017

A funeral service for Nora M. Adams will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Theodore Catholic Church in Albert Lea. The Rev. Kurt Farrell will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Nora passed away of natural causes at her home on Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2017.  She was 68.

Nora Mary (Cantu) Adams was born April 6, 1949, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Juan and Eduvijes (Vasquez) Cantu.  The family moved to the Albert Lea area, where she would attend and graduate from Albert Lea High School.

On Dec. 4, 1968, she was united in marriage to Oscar Adams in Albert Lea. The couple made Albert Lea their home.

Nora was a member of St. Theodore Catholic church and enjoyed attending church. She was a wonderful wife and mother, always keeping a nice home.

Nora enjoyed working in her vegetable garden, reading, bird watching, cooking, walks at the state park and helping out in the bait shop. She liked to play jokes on her family, and was known as a caring, creative, smart and funny person. Above all, Nora loved her family and cherished each moment they were together.

Nora is preceded in death by her husband, Oscar; both parents, Juan and Eduvijes Cantu; a 16-year-old son; three children in infancy; and a brother, Fred Cantu.

Those left to carry on her legacy include her children Sherry (Tim Williams) Adams, Gordy Adams and Stacy (Danny) Lugo; grandchildren Joshua, Anica and Holly Cole, Timmy and Megan Williams, Jennifer, Jordan, Erin, Justin, Allyson and Nathan Adams, and Marley Lugo; great-grandchildren Mahlya, Melody, Ryan, Rheya, Rhyleigh, Violet and Ryker; siblings Lucy Pena, Rudy (Carol) Cantu, Jesse (Patty) Cantu, Joe (Helen) Cantu and Maria Cantu; brothers and sisters-in-law Mary (Jesse) Zamora, Mary Lou Adams, Rudolfo Adams, Alma Rosa (Ray) Talamantes, Blanca Stella Guardado, Alexandra (Bartolo) Orozco, Gloria Cerda, Dora Sandoval, Silvia (Pedro) Ortiz and Ernesto Adams; as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
