Abbie Jean “Tudy” Poliak died on Dec. 8, 2017, at Comforts of Home in River Falls, Wisconsin, at the age of 90 — a young 90.
Tudy was united in marriage on Feb 19, 1949, to John Eugene Poliak. Their marriage would be blessed for 60 years.
Tudy and John moved to Albert Lea, where John played semi-pro baseball for the Albert Lea Packers. Tudy worked at the clinic as a registered nurse. She and John retired to Solon Springs ,Wisconsin, and resided there for 22 years. She loved to play “500,” golf and enjoyed hosting visits with their large group of friends and family at the lake. During her nine years in River Falls, Tudy was an active member of River Falls United Methodist Church.
Tudy is survived by her children, Steve (Roxanne) Poliak, Sue (Gene) Lieser, Mike (Marcia) Poliak and Jeff (Danielle) Poliak; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Don Behrens; sisters-in-law Marilyn Poliak and Libby Poliak; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Poliak; her parents; her brother, Pat Shores; many loving in-laws; and son-in-law, Terry Hanson.
Memorial services to celebrate the life of Abbie Jean “Tudy” Poliak will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at United Methodist Church at 127 S. Second St. in River Falls. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. O’Connell-Benedict Funeral Home in River Falls is handling the arrangements.
