Mark Christensen has been named as the December Employee of the Month for Pioneer Memorial Hospital & Health Services.

According to a press release, Christensen has worked in the maintenance department as a maintenance assistant since October 2016. In the position, Christensen is responsible for maintaining pioneer memorial buildings, adjacent walks and grounds, and keeping the facility in an orderly and functional condition. Christenson’s work doesn’t stop there, though. He is routinely seen providing assistance to staff, visitors and other employees in many different aspects.

Christensen went to the University of Minnesota for horticulture and attended Minnesota State University-Mankato. Hailing from Albert Lea, Christensen now lives in Viborg. Those who nominated Christensen for Employee of the Month described him as a wonderful worker with a positive attitude.

When not working, Christensen enjoys hunting, fishing, camping and hanging around the campfire with his friends and family.

When asked what he thought about receiving the award, Christensen said, “This has been a humbling experience. I appreciate all my coworkers, residents and patients that walk through these halls. Pioneer Memorial Hospital is a great place to work.”
