On Dec. 6, Jack and Pearl Brown of Garner, Iowa, donated  several dolls with clothes and accessories to the  Albert Lea  Osman Shriners unit, which raises funds for Shriners Children’s Hospital, according to a press release.

Pearl Brown and members of Comfort Quilting Club at United Methodist Church in Garner sewed outfits and made doll and baby packages, which they donated to be given to patients at Shriners Children’s Hospital. 

On Dec. 8,  members of Albert Lea’s Shriners unit delivered the toys to Shriners Hospital.

The gifts are given to patients recovering from surgery.  The Minneapolis hospital specializes in prosthetics for children born with defects or loss of limbs from injuries. The health care is provided at no charge to children brought to the 27 American Shriners  hospitals nation-wide.

Each time people observe Albert Lea Shriners in their little red cars in a parade or other Shriners units, each of them are raising funds to support children’s hospitals and their mission to provide health services at no cost for children.
