Jack Bolinger, 1935-2017

Jack H. Bolinger, 82, of Mason City, Iowa, died Sunday, Dec. 24, 2017, at Good Shepherd Health Center in Mason City.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. NE in Mason City. The Rev. Matthew Muters will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home in Mason City. In lieu of customary remembrances, his family suggests memorial contributions to the Jack Bolinger Memorial Fund.

Jack was born Oct. 20, 1935, the son of John and Bonnie (Kramer) Bolinger in Albert Lea. He married Hannah Schachner on Dec. 21, 1964, in Northwood.

Jack grew up and attended school in Albert Lea. He was a hard worker his entire life and retired as a truck driver. He also was an avid fisherman and hunter who loved being outdoors.

Jack is survived by his wife, Hannah Bolinger, of Mason City; five children, Marcy (Chuck) Bolinger of Albert Lea, Linda (Javier) Olson of Clear Lake, Iowa, Jody (the late Monte Swanson) Swanson of Forest City, Iowa, Douglas (Lorie) Bolinger of Forest City and Chuck (Patty) Bolinger of Forest City; 12 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and four siblings, William “Bill” Bolinger of Austin, Dutch (Juanita) Bolinger of Alexandria, Jerry (Bonnie) Bolinger of Manchester and Galen (Sandy) Bolinger of Manchester.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Madonna Bolinger; a daughter in infancy; and two siblings, Lavella Hoyt and Eugene Bolinger.
