Memorial services for Dennis W. Hoverson, 78, of New Richland will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home. The Rev. Kent Otterman will officiate. Dennis died Sunday, Jan. 28, 2018, at The Beacon in New Richland.

Dennis Wayne Hoverson was born Jan. 25, 1940, in Albert Lea, the son of Julius and Stella (Amundson) Hoverson. He graduated from Albert Lea High School. He attended Luther College and then two years at the Albert Lea Vo-Tech. He worked as a computer drafter for EF Johnson and ADC in Waseca. Dennis loved the outdoors, including fishing, hunting and cross-country skiing. He would often ski with his sled dogs, Nikita and Zach leading him. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Dennis is survived by siblings Gary (Diane) Hoverson of Glenville, Harriet Nelson of Albert Lea, Justine Van Ryswyk of Albert Lea and Rita (Brad) Nelson of New Richland; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and his faithful cat, Trixie.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents and brothers-in-law Robert Nelson and Duane “Dude” Van Ryswyk.
