A memorial gathering for June Mary Ann Menke will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Radiant Church, 850 Highway 14 in Winona.
June Mary Ann Menke, 78, died on Sunday, Jan. 7, 2018, at St. John’s Lutheran Community in Albert Lea. June was born on June 12, 1939, to parents Floyd S. and Ella (Hansen) Chadbourne in Mankato. June grew up in Winona and attended Winona Senior High.
On April 12, 1980, June married Daniel Menke in Winona. She was a housewife and raised four children. In 2002, June moved to Albert Lea until 2009 and moving back to Albert Lea in 2011.
In her free time, she loved playing Yahtzee and completing word search and jigsaw puzzles. She was a huge country music fan and loved Elvis and collecting his memorabilia over the years. Toby Keith recently became one of her favorite country singers and she listened to his music to stay happy. June loved old Western movies, watching horror films and reading Stephen King novels.
Survivors include her children, Randy Groth of Onalaska, Susan Stiles of Clarks Grove, Timothy Groth of Winona and Laurie (Fred) Peaslee of Lewiston; grandchildren Angie Leff, Cassie Quickstad, Marie Rausch, Gerry Stephan, Erik Stephan, Cody (Krystal) Peaslee, Joey Peaslee, Josh Peaslee, Samantha Peaslee, Cadi Peaslee, Kersten Peaslee, Jess Peaslee and Symon Peaslee; 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
June was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel; parents Floyd and Ella; brother, Kenneth (Maxine) Chadbourne; and nephew, Marlan Chadbourne.
